Polish customs officers have gone back to work on the country's borders with Belarus and Ukraine. The move follows a week-long strike for higher salaries and better working conditions.

The protests resulted in thousands of trucks being stuck on the eastern borders. Meanwhile, Ukraine might demand compensation from Poland for the damage caused by the delays at the check-points. The country's economic development ministry estimates daily losses of up to $US 12 MLN.
