A team of researchers has found two Soviet ships dating from the time of World War II. The boats are lying at the bottom of the Black Sea, near the city of Novorossiysk.

The ships were discovered by a team just a few days after the launch of the “Bow to the ships of the Great Victory” expedition. It was the fourth such attempt aimed at identifying Soviet ships, which sank during the war of the early 1940s. The two vessels are small coastal patrol boats, not known to have been part of the naval fleet. One is reported to contain a huge amount of ammunition. More than 200 Soviet ships were sunk during World War II. Most of them remain undiscovered.
