Food and supplies have been delivered to Russia’s far northern city of Norilsk, after more than two weeks of a snow blockade. More than 200 tons of goods have been delivered from a nearby port of Dudinka.

For almost two weeks the city has been blocked by heavy snowfall and strong winds which paralyzed roads and disabled airports. Norilsk is Russia’s far northern industrial centre beyond the Arctic Circle, with a population of over 100,000. Its average January temperature is about minus 25 Celsius.
