Ship sinks in Russian Far East

All 11 crew members, who were on board a transport vessel sinking in the Kuril Islands, in the Far East of Russia, have been rescued. The survivors were picked up from lifeboats near the ship, between the Islands of Iturup and Kunashir.

No injuries were reported.The vessel's engine had broken down. Bad weather conditions could be to blame for the incident.
