Russia's Central Election Committee chief not renominated

Five new members have been appointed to Russia’s Central Election Committee (CEC). Aleksander Veshnyakov, who has been the head of the Committee for 12 years, has not found his name in the list.

During Boris Yeltsin's presidency, Veshnyakov was the Secretary of the CEC before he became chairman of the Committee in 1999.New head of CEC will be announced in the near future.Aleksandr Veshnyakov is expected to be offered a new post.
