There has been double joy for Russians in the Cycling Tour of Switzerland. Friday's grueling stage seven was won by Discovery Channel's Vladimir Gusev. While his compatriot Vladimir Efimkin still holds the leader's yellow jersey.

It was a tough day in the saddle – 126 kilometres over two big mountains – but Gusev was the strongest on the day. He broke away to cross the misty finish line two minutes ahead of second-place Chris Horner for the predictor lotto team. Fellow Russian Vladimir Efimkin managed to keep out of trouble – to wear the yellow jersey going into the penultimate day. He has a 24-second lead over Kim Kirchen in the overall standings.
