Hundreds of activists from the “Nashi” youth movement have rallied near the Georgian embassy in Moscow.
Demonstrators said they were protesting against what they call the “anti-democratic regime” of president Mikhail Saakashvili. Moral support for Georgians, who want to fight for their rights and democracy, was also declared. Many were wearing gas-masks as a reminder of the violent clashes that took place on November the 7th in the Georgian capital when police dispersed an opposition rally. “Nashi” is a Kremlin-funded youth movement, which has over 100,000 members.
