A group of Russian and Chinese rescuers is travelling to where one of the two abandoned rafts belonging to six missing Russian canoeists was found. They are expected to meet with other rescuers that were air-dropped at the site on Friday.

A search of the area will start Sunday, although it's likely to be complicated by the terrain, which is a narrow canyon in a mountain range five kilometres above sea level. The six Russians started their canoeing trip on August 18 on the Yurungkash River. It was supposed to end on September 2, but they never arrived at their planned finishing point.
