The Olympic bill, as it is known, will be presented to the Russian State Duma on Wednesday. It will provide legal guidance for the 2014 Olympics to be held in the Russian city of Sochi.

The bill will lay down rules for the purchase of land designated for the Games from local land owners. Taking into consideration how much land prices have skyrocketed since the city won the right to host the 2014 Winter Olympics, the legislation is seen as crucial to protect land owners from possible fraud. The bill will also set a legal framework for customs, taxation, copyrights, migration and work permits during the Olympics.
