Russian pilot dies in SU-27 crash

A pilot has been killed after a Russian fighter jet crashed in the country's Far East. A second pilot managed to eject and is said to be alive.

Air Force sources say the SU-27 aircraft went down around noon local time near the city of Ussuriisk in the Primorye region. An investigation has been opened into the incident. The SU-27 fighter interceptor (NATO codename Flanker) has been in production since 1984.
