From 1995 to 1998 military pensioners missed out on payments due to the readjustment of monetary allowances. Now they're going to get the money owed to them, and it will be indexed in accordance with current market prices. It's expected to cost the Russian government some 40 billion roubles – that's about $US 1.5 billion.
