A villa in Majorca allegedly owned by a Russian politician has been searched by police.

Spain’s El Pais newspaper claims a warrant was issued for the property owned by Russian Duma deputy Vladislav Reznik as part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of an alleged Russian mafia group. In June 2008 more than twenty Russians were arrested across Spain as part of the same probe. Saturday's report claims police confiscated documents and art works from the deputy's house. Reznik, who chairs the Duma Financial Market Committee, has not responded to the allegations. Neither have Russian law enforcement bodies.
