Police have disrupted a march by a nationalist group in the Latvian capital, Riga.

Activists had gathered to mark the 69th anniversary of the country's invasion by Nazi Germany.

They claim the date is significant, as it marks Latvia's liberation from the Soviet regime.

The city's authorities banned the rally, but their decision was deemed illegal by Riga's top court.

After verbal clashes with anti-fascists, two activists carrying pro-Nazi posters were detained by police.
