Speaking on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Latvian President Valdis Zalters claims that his country’s crisis recovery plan has been more successful then even its authors expected.

“There was an important change in the minds of Latvian people. They understood that they are in trouble and they understood how to behave to get out of the trouble. It’s very important, because during any structural reforms – many of which we had to undergo in recent years, including public service, healthcare and education – you need public support,” Zalter told RT.
