Unlike President Dmitry Medvedev, who is known for his love of new technologies, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has admitted he doesn’t have a mobile phone and never answers the phone at home.
Speaking at a meeting with workers at the Norilsky Nikel metal plant, Putin shocked the audience by confessing that he does not have a mobile phone.
“I don’t have a mobile phone, I don’t use it,” the prime minister, said when asked what brand of mobile phone he carried.
“If I had a mobile phone, it would ring nonstop,” Putin explained.
“Moreover, when the telephone rings at home, I never answer,” he added.
This stands in sharp contrast to Medvedev, who enthusiastically uses all the latest high tech gadgets and services.
There’s been little secret about which brand of mobile phone Medvedev uses, since he made headlines when he became the first iPhone 4G owner in Russia.
