Dozens of protesters have gathered outside Georgia’s Parliament in Tbilisi which is due to convene for the first time since last month's election.
The members of the United Opposition bloc have promised to boycott the session and block all entrances to the building. They claim the results of the ballot were rigged to give the ruling United National Movement Party a massive majority. It was thought that parliament’s first session would open on Monday. But late on Friday President Mikhail Saakashvili announced that Saturday would be the day the new MPs start work. The opposition say they are not planning any violent action, but want to put pressure on the ruling party.
