Poland's President Lech Kaczynski has said it is only a matter of time before a new missile shield is deployed in the country. He made the comments after meeting the U.S. President George Bush in Washington.
The President underlined that the missile shield would only serve to protect Europe from possible attacks from rogue states such as Iran and North Korea. Russia has protested against Washington's plans to deploy the system in Poland and Czech Republic, saying it will threaten Russia's security. As an alternative, Russia's President Vladimir Putin suggested joint use of a radar station in Gabala – but the U.S. has continued with its plan to deploy AMD system in Eastern Europe.
