Three members of Russia’s law enforcement have been apprehended for brutally assaulting two men and killing one of them.

Interfax new agency reported that the confrontation took place in the middle of the night on the outskirts of Moscow. The officers were allegedly intoxicated and wore partial police uniform. What started off as a verbal altercation later turned into a ruthless attack. As a result, one of the victims – a 19-year old citizen of Abkhazia – died at the scene shortly afterwards.

A spokesman for Moscow city police confirmed that all three officers were members of Moscow police force. He also stated that Aver Ibragimov, one of the police officers, had been charged with manslaughter, while the other two officers would be presented as witnesses.

In the meantime, all thee officers have been discharged from Russia’s law enforcement. Moscow police chief in charge of the officers’ unit has also been suspended.

This is not the first incidence of police brutality in Russia’s law enforcement. A month ago a police officer killed two people in Siberia, afterwards killing himself. In addition, in April another shooting took place in a Moscow supermarket when a police officer opened fire on a crowd killing two people.
