Poland's PM-in-waiting seeks better ties with Russia

The man tipped to be Poland's next Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, says one of his top priorities as leader will be the improvement of relations between Warsaw and Moscow.

The pro-business candidate also urged President Lech Kaczynski to form a new government as soon as possible Donald Tusk's Civil Justice party defeated the ruling Law and Justice party of the President and his twin brother Prime Minister in a parliamentary election on Sunday. Poland's relations with Russia worsened under the Kaczynski twins.  Among the contentious issues between the two nations are U.S. plans to put part of a missile shield in Poland, energy supplies, and a Russian ban on Polish meat.
