Poland's Prime Minister says a decision on deploying part of the U.S. anti-missile defence shield in his country can be made at any moment.
Donald Tusk said the country will not wait for the U.S. presidential election result, if Washington accepts Warsaw's conditions on the project ealier. Tusk added that America may not have enough political energy to solve the issue because of the election campaign, but said Warsaw is ready to wait. Last month, Poland rejected U.S. proposals to place interceptor missiles there, saying there weren't enough guarantees for Poland's security. Russia has always strongly opposed the plan, seeing it as a threat to its national security. However, the U.S. insists its only aim is to protect Europe from what it calls ‘rogue states’ such as Iran and North Korea.
