In KHL, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl is now one game away from making history. After Tuesday’s game they gained a serious foothold in their best-of-seven semifinal series against Metallurg.

The side from Yaroslavl edged closer to becoming the first team to qualify for the final of the inaugural Kontinental Hockey League with a 4-0 win over Metallurg Magnitogorsk.

There were no problems for the visitors with all the strikes coming before the third period.

Another promising statistic for the Lokomotiv management was that there were four different scorers on the night – a continuation of the team effort they've exuded all competition long.

The potentially decisive game six will take place on Thursday.

Other semifinalists, Ak Bars and Dynamo, are tied at two matches apiece in the their last 4 series.
