The commercial director of the Lame Horse nightclub in Russia’s Urals region, where dozens died in a deadly fire last December, has been arrested in Spain.

Konstantin Mrykhin is one of eight people who face jail terms in the case. Russia has asked Spain for his extradition.

Perm’s Lame Horse nightclub went up in flames during an indoor fireworks show in December 2009, resulting in the deaths of 156 people and injuring 65 more.

The inquiry confirmed the blaze resulted from fire hazardous conditions and fire safety violations, Russia’s Prosecutor General’s office stated recently.
