News conference: Vladimir Putin and Manmohan Singh

Following talks between President Vladimir Putin and the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, the two sides have signed a number of agreements. Then the two leaders held a media conference.

Both Putin and Singh said they are very satisfied with the results of the visit. Russia and India have agreed on several joint-projects, including a moon- exploration programme, the design and construction of a cargo plane and the development of a fifth-generation fighter jet. The two countries have also signed agreements on the regulation of India’s Soviet-era debt and on fighting drugs trafficking. Co-operation on nuclear energy and investment were also been on the agenda.
