The parliament in Kyrgyzstan has approved President Kurmanbek Bakiev's nomination for Prime Minister. Opposition leader, Almaz Atambaev, has been elected to the post, and says he will propose a cabinet line-up by Monday.

The Parliamentary vote took place a day after the resignation of Prime Minister, Azim Isabekov, who spent just two months in office.
