FC Moscow have displaced champions Rubin at the top of the Russian Premier League table.

FC Moscow 2-0 CSKA

In the match which would decide who would be on top of the table before the three-week break, the Citizens were receiving the Armymen. The latter were seriously depleted as they were playing without their leader Yury Zhirkov. The Russian international’s absence turned out to be decisive on Sunday. CSKA lacked mobility and creativity in offense, while FC Moscow opted for a counter-attacking strategy and used almost all their opportunities.

FC Moscow’s Aleksandr Samedov and Bronislav Krunich were the hitmen, and the Citizens go two points clear after a 2-0 victory against local rivals CSKA.

Tom 1-2 Amkar

In the early game on Sunday, Amkar came from a goal down to beat Tom 2-1 to pull away from the relegation zone.

Saturn 2-0 Lokomotiv

The Moscow region side beat Lokomotiv 2-0 with goals in each half. Zelau and former Loko icon and captain Dmitri Loskov got onto the score sheet.
