A 28-meter-high New Year fir tree has been erected in the center of Moscow and soon will be decorated and ready for the jolly festivities.

The 100-year-old spruce has been delivered to the centre of the capital in a truck driven by Father Frost.

It is being decorated now with tinsel, Christmas lights and ornaments, and about 2,000 baubles.

The official entertainment will be held on December 26th, when about 5,000 children from different parts of Russia, as well as from Abkhazia and South Ossetia will participate in the celebration.
