Mime legend Marcel Marceau has died at the age of 84 in Paris. For over 50 years he displayed the whole range of human emotions on stage while never uttering a word.

Marcel Marceau's former assistant announced the death on French radio. The mime actor revived the art of mime after the Second World War. He survived the Holocaust and worked with the French Resistance. His biggest inspiration was Charlie Chaplin but he himself inspired many – Michael Jackson took his 'Moonwalk' from a Marceau sketch.
