Israel is continuing its aerial bombardment across Lebanon while fighting at the border between Israeli ground troops

Four Israeli soldiers were killed in clashes with Hezbollah near Bint Jbeil, close to the border. In northern Israel, two people were injured as Hezbollah fired more than 100 rockets across the region. The Lebanese authorities say more than a thousand people have been killed in the past four weeks. But this does not include dozens more feared trapped under the rubble. Israel has warned the attacks will escalate. Assurances that aid convoys would not be hit were not enough for the United Nations, which temporarily cancelled plans to send aid to the conflict zone. The Israeli army says it's killed 15 Hezbollah fighters during the past few days. Fighting continued well into the night near the village of Metula. On the other side of the border, two people were injured as Hezbollah fired more than 100 rockets into northern Israel. Hundreds of thousands of people have left their homes in the north to escape the threat of Katyusha rockets. On Tuesday, the Israeli government said it would pay for temporary accommodation for the thousands who want to escape the fighting.
