Man beaten on Moscow's metro after opposing nationalist claims

A correspondent from the Russian edition of Newsweek magazine claims he was beaten by a group of young people in Moscow after opposing their nationalist claims.

Aydar Nuribayev told the “Ekho Moskvy” radio station he had been attacked on Friday night on one of the city's metro stations. He says he was set upon by youths in black uniforms after he disagreed when they asked if he knew that “Russia is for Russians only”.A criminal case into intended bodily harm has been launched.Moscow metro's prosecutor's office is investigating whether the attack was racially motivated.
