The U.S. company Mattel has destroyed 175,000 toys in Mexico amid fears of lead contamination. It comes just months after the manufacturer ordered recalls of more than 21 million Chinese-made toys because they contained high lead levels.

Mexican authorities say the products, which ranged from small cars to action figures, had levels of lead exceeding the legal limit. They're now planning to introduce stricter laws to stop lead-tainted toys being brought into the country.
