Korea reunions to end, the north says

North Korea said it would halt cross-border reunions with families from the south. Officials gave the news after South Korea announced suspended shipments of rice going to the north.

South Korea wants Pyongyang to return to stalled six-country talks on ending its nuclear weapons programme. North and South Korea have held several rounds of reunions for hundreds of thousands of families separated by the Korean war in the 1950s.
