On Friday, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl were looking to maintain their momentum in game two of their KHL finals against Ak Bars.

The Railway Men took the lead in the best-of-seven series on Thursday with a thumping 3-0 victory.

And on Friday, they were looking good to increase this lead after scoring three goals within five minutes in the first period.

The hosts, however, were able to pull one back still in the first through captain Aleksey Morozov.

3-1 was the way it stood before the third period, when the Kazan men came up with a real comeback – first Dmitry Obukhov disappointed Loko’s goalie Gabashvili, while all-time Morozov scored the long-awaited equalizer less than two minutes before the whistle.

And Kazan’s Andrey Pervyshin netted the winner 47 seconds into the overtime, again with Aleksey Morozov’s help.

Ak Bars have caught up with Loko in the series, which now moves to Yaroslavl.
