A military jet has crashed, killing 2 pilots on board, during a training flight in Kazahstan's Karaganda region. A special commission set up by the country’s Defence Ministry is now working to determine the cause of the crash.

“The accident happened during the night when there were normal weather conditions. During an attempt to land, the aircraft hit the ground 5 to 6 km short. We have no more information so far. There are many possible causes for the crash. It could’ve been equipment failure, loss of orientation due to the equipment failure, or simply loss of control over its height,” commented Oleg Kolyada, the head of Russia's Airforce Flight Safety Agency.
