Israeli troops say that Mahmoud Abu Abait, who was killed in Jenin, a city on the West Bank, on Wednesday was involved in an attempted bombing near the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.
According to Palestinian witnesses, 24-year-old Mahmoud Abu Abait was travelling in a car in the centre of the town when undercover Israeli troops shot and killed him. The Israeli Army claims that Abait was on his way to carry out a suicide bombing at the time of the shooting. Meanwhile, Islamic Jihad, which claimed responsibility for another attempted attack on Tuesday, has vowed retaliation for Abait's killing.
