Iran has successfully tested the Russian Tor air defence missile system, a short range anti-aircraft system capable of engaging 8 targets at once. Russia completed the delivery of 29 systems last month as part of a $US 700 MLN deal.

Last year Iran bought Russian arms including helicopters, jets and machine guns. The United States imposed sanctions on two Russian arms companies in response to the sales.
