Iran invites nuclear watchdog

Iran has invited the International Atomic Energy Agency to Tehran to clear up suspicions about its nuclear programme. The invitation has been issued by Ali Larijani, Tehran's chief nuclear negotiator, in talks with IAEA head Mohamed ElBaradei in Vienna.

Since December, the UN Security Council has imposed two sets of sanctions against Iran's missile and nuclear programmes. Iran has repeatedly ignored demands to suspend uranium enrichment. It argues it wants to produce fuel for nuclear reactors that would generate electricity and will not use technology to make a nuclear bomb.
