On Sunday a storm in the Black and Azov Seas has battered at least four vessels, pouring up to 1,300 tonnes of oil and 2,000 tonnes of sulphur into water. Evgeny Schwartz from the World Wide Fund for Nature joined RT to comment on the situation.

“From my point of view, we always need to remember about the weather. It shouldn’t be an excuse. It should be incorporated into our standards and formal requirements to the internal freshwater shipping and especially in the case of tankers,” he said.  "It is a huge international problem how to set relevant standards for international crude oil shipping. In many cases of catastrophes we're dealing with tankers under the so-called flags of convenience.
