A train collision in eastern India which killed more than 100 people and injured over 200 was caused by Maoist rebels, claim leaflets left not far from the site.
The train, which was arriving from Calcutta to Mumbai, came off the rails and hit another train traveling in the opposite direction.
Investigators are looking into whether a bomb was used, or if the group had removed part of the track.
Maoist groups recently stepped up their attacks on civilians as the government attempts to push militants from their jungle strongholds.
RT correspondent Karan Singh has seen Maoist groups first hand. He says they are extremely hard to be brought to the negotiating table, as their demand is for the Indian state not to exist.
“The government has in the past – a year or so – made repeated requests: if you end violence, we are willing to talk on any issue. But the Maoists have repeatedly refused,” Karan Singh said.
