Some 100 kilogrammes of potentially tainted Chinese-produced milk powder have been found in the Siberian city of Tomsk. The load has been sent to a laboratory for analysis.

Earlier, about two tonnes of Chinese-made milk products were found in Russia's Khabarovsk region, which borders on China. The milk contains melanin, which is used in the production of plant growth accelerators. It inhibits the function of the kidneys and can lead to the development of cancer. The Russian Health Ministry is trying to track down all Chinese milk powder and its related products after it was blamed for four deaths and the illnesses of 54,000 children in China.
