Hundreds of volunteers have traveled from all over Russia to the Republic of North Ossetia.
Most of the volunteers have a military background, and many of them have combat experience, a source from North Ossetian security agencies told the Interfax news agency. Their duty is to render assistance to South Ossetian security forces in normalizing the situation in the republic, against which Georgia has launched aggression.
