Almost 300 people have been evacuated and 30,000 could be at risk as heavy rains threaten to destroy a dam in the town of Zeya in Russia's south-eastern Amur region.

Engineers have been forced to relieve the pressure on the dam as the water levels rise. They have doubled the amount being released at the Zeyskaya hydroelectric station putting the region in danger of flooding. But the dam is still struggling to cope.
