Hand grenade deactivated near Moscow

A hand grenade found on a major road in the Moscow Region, south of the Russian capital, has been deactivated. Bomb-disposal experts, working at the scene, moved the weapon to a shooting-range for further detonation.

The traffic has been fully restored after being blocked for several hours. Police are investigating the origin of the grenade.
