The Geyser Valley of Kamchatka, in Russia’s Far East, is welcoming tourists back after a year-long break caused by a mudslide that threatened the reserve's existence.
The scientists feared the valley wouldn’t recover after the landslide, which actually created a new thermal lake. But the world's second largest concentration of geysers is recovering. This unique area can only be reached by helicopter. Despite the difficultly, on average 3,000 tourists come to admire its beauty every year. And soon more people will be able to enjoy the area as the park is planning to install web cameras.
