The western regions of Georgia have been hit by a fifth straight day of torrential rains. Roads throughout the region have been damaged and some remote villages cut off by the swelling water levels triggered by the rainfall.

In some towns and villages homes are under water and residents are struggling to save their possessions. Authorities are yet to calculate the cost of the damage.
