Georgian border guards have seized the Russian-flagged tanker “Saratov City”.
The vessel was detained on Saturday in the Georgian port of Batimi, reports Interfax news agency.
The reason for the move is that the tanker was allegedly contaminating the sea.
The case will be reviewed by a Georgian court. The crew risks being fined for $37,000 if found guilty.
