Four Russian crewmembers die in Sea of Japan collision

A freighter ship manned by a Russian crew has sunk in the Sea of Japan after a collision. At least four of the members have reportedly died and seven are missing.

One of the sailors has been picked up by a South Korean patrol ship which was sent to the rescue, a coastguard official told the media.The incident happened on early morning some 16 nautical miles from the Korean port city of Ulsan.A preliminary investigation said the vessel “Aleksandra” may have collided with another vessel.The rescue operation is still underway. A helicopter and several patrol boats are involved in the search and rescue operation.
