In Eastern Siberia, 140 people have been hospitalised with food poisoning in the city of Bratsk. The victims include 108 children, five of whom are in intensive care. It's suspected their kindergarten may have been supplied with sub-standard products.

Doctors are blaming meat balls made from imported Dutch liver for the suspected salmonella outbreak.   The local mayor has declared a state of emergency in the town and the kindergarten has been placed under supervision.   This is the third case of mass food poisoning of children in Eastern Siberia over the last three months.
