In the southern Russian republic of Ingushetia a group of armed militants have attacked a motorised infantry regiment. According to local police, no casualties have been reported.
A group of more than ten people fired automatic weapons, grenade and mine launchers from several directions. Previously there were unconfirmed reports that there were a number of casualties among the soldiers and officers. However that now appears not to be the case.
