Environmental watchdog sues Sakhalin-2 operator

The deputy head of the Russian environmental watchdog Rosprirodnadzor Oleg Mitvol said more than 40 sets of documents from the case Sakhalin-2 oil & gas project have already been given to the Russian Prosecutor General office.

Mitvol claimed that the operating company, Sakhalin Energy, has deliberately been concealing important information regarding problems with the huge oil & gas project, from the Russian authorities.He also said Russia will be demanding compensation estimated at $US10 billion.
