Sports bets will soon be one of the only types of gambling allowed in Moscow after recent laws come into force which will force casinos to leave the city.

With Russian teams’ recent successes, sports bookies are looking to cash in. Moscow casino and sports bar, Sportland, is one place looking to benefit from an increase in sports betting. Its manager, Gary Walton, says that there are some people who want to gamble on anything. If sports are the only thing left, he believes, people will gladly place those kinds of bets. The trend could also bring in a lot of British companies. “It's going to be pushed by these UK companies trying to get in here. It's going to be a market they are going to want to get into early next year,” said Walton. Meet Russia's seaside Vegas-to-be Gambling banned in southern Russia
